About Us
Every person has a story. Many of us have yet to explore how we arrived at where we are today and the condition in which we find ourselves—our patterns in relationships, our thirst for validation, our unwanted behaviors and addictions, the hopelessness we carry from shame, the anxiety that often gets the best of us, the weight and loneliness in our darkest moments, our ability to trust others, why we run in the face of conflict, and our avoidance of grief. All of these defining parts of us have a genesis.

For every client we have the honor to serve, we believe it is critical to begin the therapeutic process by addressing the here and now—the presenting problem that led them to seek counseling services in the first place. Treatment initially focuses on symptom management, psychoeducation, and the integration of evidence-based interventions to reduce the level of impairment the presenting problem is having on their current life. When approached well, this can bring significant relief for a client. The challenge is this relief is often short-term.

For those who desire freedom and healing at a deeper soul level, our practice is grounded in narrative-focused, integrative counseling. While we begin with the present, if clients are willing, we soon walk with them into formative moments of their story—this may include early parental disconnection resulting in attachment issues, experiences of tragedy or trauma, places where shame took center stage, and where coping and survival strategies were first formed. Through these events in one’s story, many of us have adopted false interpretations about who we are and what is possible for us. This is where we begin uncovering the driving patterns behind present-day symptoms—because there is always a story behind the presenting story.
As counselors, we sit with clients across the lifespan in some of their hardest moments, offering a posture of kindness and a steady presence. This is the deeper work—where we begin to reclaim what was lost so that we can show up in the present as the person we were created to be. The purpose of this work we invite clients into is to hold space for them to wonder, to name and acknowledge what has been stored for so long—to finally release and reinterpret where they have been so they can move more fully toward the greater story they were made for.

Faith-Informed Perspective
We believe every person was designed and created by God (Psalm 139: 13-16). We believe in each person’s ability to find beauty and purpose on this side of Heaven and in the Kingdom to come. We believe in divine timing and that when we sit with you, it is sacred ground. While we are mental health clinicians by profession, we believe we are unable to do anything apart from His presence (John 15:5).

We do not take lightly the honor we have been given to walk through trials, valleys, and mountaintops with our clients. As we walk with you through your pain, we do not come to fix. Only God brings complete transformation (2 Corinthians 5:17). We hold a both–and approach as we walk through life’s tribulations. While we believe in the abundant life offered by Jesus (John 10:10), we also know that in this world you will have trouble (John 16:33). We believe in the freedom that is to come while acknowledging the tragedy this world has brought. We live in a fallen world that cannot satisfy the deepest thirst within us .
We will not offer Christian platitudes in the midst of your story—for the pain is far more real than that. Instead, we hope to sit with you as the Father has sat with us. He holds our burdens and hears our wordless groans (Romans 8:26) when the pain runs deep in our souls. We hold hope that this is not the end and that one day there will be full restoration (Revelation 21: 1-4).
We believe in sitting with you in your story until you are able to lift your head from shame. God is the lifter of heads (Psalm 3:3), raising us from shame into dignity. If you do not share our Christian faith or worldview, your inherent value does not change—nor does your worthiness to be walked with. We will bring our faith-informed perspective into the counseling space only when it is appropriate and desired.
