Counseling Services
Every person has a story, and many of our present struggles—shame, anxiety, relationship patterns, and coping behaviors—have deeper origins. We begin counseling by addressing current concerns with practical, evidence-based care that often brings meaningful relief.
Yet, lasting transformation usually requires looking beyond symptom management to the defining moments that shaped one’s beliefs and survival strategies. Through a narrative-focused approach, we help clients uncover the patterns beneath their present struggles, because there is always a story behind the presenting story. With compassion and a steady presence, we create space to process and reinterpret the past so it no longer drives the present.
Individual
Counseling
We walk alongside men and women who desire to awaken to their story and confront the false narratives that prevent them from fully living.
Adolescent
Counseling
We support teens (12-18) find their footing as they prepare for the road ahead of them and discover more of who they are meant to become.
Couples
Counseling
We help couples repair and reimagine what is possible for their relationship and create a shared vision for their desired connection.

Insurance & Rates
In-Network Insurance
Abide in Courage is currently in-network with BCBS PPO.

Out-of-Network Reimbursement
For clients utilizing out-of-network benefits, you can access a superbill that is posted on the 5th of each month for all services provided in the previous month. You may submit this superbill to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. Full payment is due at the time of each session. Reimbursement rates and eligibility vary by plan, so we encourage you to verify your out-of-network benefits prior to your initial intake appointment.

Private/Self-Pay Options
Clients who prefer the flexibility and benefits of self-pay care may choose either our standard private-pay rates listed above or reduced self-pay rates, available upon request. Reduced self-pay rates are available for individuals experiencing financial hardship, without insurance, and veterans, first responders, and ministry leaders who are uninsured or not using insurance.
Cancellation + No-Show Policy
Your appointment time is reserved specifically for you. Because we maintain a waitlist of clients who are actively seeking support, we ask that you provide adequate notice if you need to cancel or reschedule.
Cancellations require at least 24 hours’ notice. If you cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice or do not attend your scheduled appointment, a $60 late cancellation / no-show fee will be charged to the card on file since missed sessions cannot be submitted to your insurance company.

Leaving a voicemail, replying to appointment text reminders, or sending a direct message through Simple Practice does qualify your cancellation – just please ensure that we are informed at least 24 hours' notice.

This policy allows us to:

-
Offer appointment times to clients on our waitlist in need of care.
-
Maintain consistency and fairness for all clients.
-
Sustain the clinical time reserved exclusively for you.

We understand that emergencies and unexpected situations occur. If there are extenuating circumstances, please communicate with us as soon as possible, and we will review on a case-by-case basis.

Thank you for respecting the time and care set aside for your treatment.
Private/Self-Pay: What's the Benefit?
While we are happy to work with insurance when possible, many of our clients choose private/self-pay for the flexibility, privacy, and quality of care it allows. Here are reasons private/self-pay may be the right fit for you:

-
Greater privacy and confidentiality: When you use insurance, a mental health diagnosis and treatment details are shared with a third party and become part of your permanent medical record. With self-pay, your care remains between you and your therapist and does not require a diagnosis.
-
More control over your treatment: Insurance companies often dictate session length, frequency, and the type of treatment considered “medically necessary.” Self-pay allows your therapist to tailor care to your unique needs — not an insurance company’s guidelines.
-
Consistency and flexibility: Self-pay clients are not impacted by deductible resets, coverage changes, or claim denials. This can lead to more predictable costs and uninterrupted care.
-
Transparent pricing: Many clients are surprised to learn that once deductibles and coinsurance are considered, self-pay rates are often comparable — or even more affordable — than using insurance.
-
Focused, client-centered care: Self-pay allows us to spend less time on administrative requirements and more time focusing on what matters most: your growth, healing, and therapeutic progress.

If the cost of services presents a barrier, we encourage you to consider seeking care with an in-network provider through your insurance plan to ensure access to affordable and appropriate support.

No Surprises Act Notice: Under federal law, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate outlining the expected cost of your care if you are uninsured or choosing not to use insurance.
